Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has broken an Instagram record to become the most followed man in America on the social media platform with 200 million followers.
This milestone comes after the actor and former WWE star has used his platform to endorse his favored candidate in the upcoming presidential election, Joe Biden. Since he did so, The Rock has gained 200,000 Instagram followers, according to social media tracking website Trackalytics.

Wearing a bowtie and tucking into a bottle from his tequila brand, Teremana, the former WWE star opened up about the life lesson he has learned in recent weeks.
"The life lesson I wanna share with you guys is to always speak your truth," Johnson said. "Always speak your truth and do your best to speak your truth with compassion, with a little bit of poise, with a little bit of dignity, with respect and with empathy, even when speaking your truth means you're gonna dive into some conversations that might make people a little uncomfortable."
He said that these conversations are important to have as they result in clarity and progress.
"And I want to tell you guys: thank you, thank you, thank you for, I mean, deep here in my bones, thank you guys for giving me the space to speak my truth," he added.
The Rock's endorsement of Joe Biden is the first time that he has publicly favored a presidential candidate, with Forbes reporting that the highest-paid actor of 2020 had a virtual discussion with Biden and Harris that prompted him to lend his support to Biden.

Johnson revealed that he has previously voted for Democrats and Republicans and describes himself as "a political independent and centrist for many years," but in 2020, he feels that Biden and Harris are the "best choice to lead our country."
However, the Rock is far from the only celebrity to recently endorse Joe Biden, and Taylor Swift recently backed his presidential bid.
The You Belong With Me singer backed Biden on Twitter, saying that she also spoke to V Magazine about the decision to reveal her political allegiances.
"I spoke to @vmagazine about why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden for president. So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate. Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the tv a lot. And I also have custom cookies," Swift wrote on Twitter.

Vice Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, has since replied to Swift's tweet, writing: "Voting never goes out of style. Thank you so much for your support Taylor. P.S. Please share your cookie recipe."
