Edward Enninful has revealed his monumental farewell cover as Editor-In-Chief of British Vogue.
On Thursday (February 8), the 51-year-old fashion director wrapped up his reign with the famous publication with a March issue featuring not one but 40 of the world's most prominent women.
The remarkable photoshoot comes as a goodbye to Enninful's incredible six-and-a-half years as editor and marks his 76th cover photo for British Vogue.
"The end of an era," the magazine penned on its official Instagram page. "After six and a half years and 153 cover stars – including the 40 legendary women who were photographed together in New York for our March 2024 issue – behold @Edward_Enninful’s 76th and final edition of @BritishVogue."
Check out the cover below:The iconic women include Jane Fonda, his first-ever cover star Adowa Aboah, models Adut Akech, Iman, and Naomi Campbell, as well as musicians Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa.
Talk show host Oprah Winfrey can be seen sitting at the center of the picture, alongside tennis legend Serena Williams and former Spice Girl turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham.
There are also actresses such as Salma Hayek, Anya Taylor-Joy, Laverne Cox, Rina Sawayama, and Simone Ashley as well as two mother-and-daughter pairings: models Kate and Lila Moss, and Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber.
Other names include Selma Blair, Paloma Elsesser, Karen Elson, Cynthia Erivo, Linda Evangelista, Gigi Hadid, Maya Jama, Jameela Jamil, Karlie Kloss, Precious Lee, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Irina Shayk, Christy Turlington, Amber Valletta, and Anok Yai.
Vittoria Ceretti, Gemma Chan, Jodie Comer, Ariana Debose, Cara Delevingne, and Jourdan Dunn, also appeared too.
A video on the magazine's Instagram page shows that the group assembled at a New York studio to be shot all at the same time by the American photographer Steven Meisel.
Beneath a gold Vogue masthead, each of the women donned a simple black or white outfit with the cover line reading: "Legendary! 40 Vogue icons. 1 epic shoot… The ultimate fashion issue."
The magazine shared in the caption that the "sisterhood of megastars gathered for a once-in-a-lifetime photoshoot," adding: "When the initial idea for the cover was ignited, there was only one question: would 40 of the most booked and blessed women on earth actually make it to one studio in Manhattan, on one day in December, to take one image together? Spoiler alert: they came."
Many people shared their stunned reactions to the photoshoot in the comment section.
One user praised: "Legends only" while another applauded: "This is one for the books!! Can’t wait to add this to my Vogue collection."
A third shared: "Remarkable @edward_enninful and the whole @britishvogue team that keeps inspiring, informing, and pushing us forward! What a grand finale of feminine power coming together! Thank you!!!"
A fourth added: "This is so unbelievably iconic."

Enninful announced last June that he would be stepping down from his position and will be embarking on a new role as Conde Nast’s global creative and cultural advisor.
The iconic editor became the first black gay man to edit the magazine in 2017 and is heavily praised for making the magazine more diverse and inclusive.
In his farewell letter, Enninful revealed that he faced hardship when he made it his goal to "change things up" and improve the magazine's diversity, stating: "I still recall, during my early tenure here in 2017, brainstorming my first issues, when a senior company staffer said these words to me: 'Diversity equals downmarket,'" per The Independent.
"I was shocked, of course, but also genuinely confused. Were people really so... what’s a non-confrontational phrase I can reach for here? Shall we go with 'close-minded'? Or were there - are there - still people unable to see the world for how it truly is?" he added.
However, he is determined to keep "championing the incredible array of voices in fashion and media," sharing that "there is a great deal yet to be done".
