Ashley Park has been hospitalized after a bout of tonsilitis led to critical septic shock.
It was reported that the 32-year-old, best known for her portrayal of Mindy Chen on Netflix hit show Emily in Paris, spent an entire week in intensive care after she was initially diagnosed with a tonsil infection.
Taking to Instagram after the ordeal was over, the actress posted some candid photos of herself; the first showed her laying on a hospital bed with her eyes closed while her boyfriend, Paul Forman, kissed her head.
The others also showed sweet interactions with Forman, who plays Nicolas de Léon in Emily In Paris, confirming fans' suspicions after rumors swirled that the pair's on-screen flirting turned into real-life dating.
"As I sit here processing and recovering from the first few weeks of 2024, the only word I can think of is grateful," she wrote in the caption. "While on holiday in December into New Years, what started as tonsillitis spiraled into critical septic shock, which infected and affected several of my organs. I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we had initially been told."
She continued, mentioning the impact Forman had during her health battle: "Grateful most of all to @peforman for being unconditionally by my side through all this. You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary ERs, countless scans and tests and injections, excruciating pain, and so much confusion all while we were alone on the other side of the world far from those we know."
She emphasized how much she loved Forman before going on to thank the health professionals who looked after her while she was in the thick of it.
"I’m deeply grateful to every doctor and ICU nurse who worked tirelessly and especially the @JoaliBeing team for responding immediately and staying with me to provide language translations and vital support," she continued in the emotional post. "Infinite thanks to my personal team of heroes at home who were on calls with insurance, Paul, my parents, and doctors at all hours (you know who you are).
The star then revealed that she's still on her journey to full recovery before concluding: "Thanks for reading this. Im sorry for being so absent recently to so much and to people in my life. I love you all. I’m healing and I promise I'm gonna be okay."

I love you sister and I’m forever grateful you’re on the other side of this and for @peforman for your incredibly huge heart and being there for every step of the way. I cannot wait to hug you both."
The news comes shortly after it was announced that filming for the next season of Emily in Paris has officially begun.
Netflix's official Twitter/X account shared a photo of Lily Collins holding up the script for season 4, episode 1, with a date of Wednesday, January 17 for the table read-through.
"BONJOUR SEASON FOUR," the post reads. "Emily in Paris is back in production."
Collins herself shared the same photo, alongside a handful more of the script and the shirt, to her Instagram account, writing: "Did someone say Saison Quatre?! Finally reunited with my @emilyinparis fam back in Paris and it feels so good. Although, I may need to brush up on my selfie skills for Emily’s sake..."
Park is set to join the production after she reaches a full recovery.
