Fans have praised Jessie J for giving them a candid look at just how tough being a new mother can be after the singer welcomed her first child.

Jessie, 35, recently gave birth to her son Sky, who she shares with her partner Chanan Safir Colman, 39, after previously revealing that she had experienced a tragic miscarriage.

While the singer has been loving her first weeks as a mom, she also took to Instagram to share the more difficult things new parents experience.

Jessie's post was a refreshing break from the endless celebrities who only post the "perfect" side of motherhood.

The chart-topping singer extended a heartfelt note to fellow mothers, acknowledging that transitioning to motherhood can be "hard af" on some days, no matter how it may appear on social media.

Jessie encouraged more parents to discuss their experiences candidly, even when their journey does not unfold as expected, writing: "Sending a hug to any new mum who is processing everything. Hormones. Breast feeding. Pumping. Identity confusion. Missing your job. An endless to do list. Exhaustion. Isolation. Recovery. Limited social life. And more...

"You are doing an AMAZING job. You are beautiful in your new skin. It won't be this hard forever. That baby is in love with you. Love you."

She then added: "Wrote that for myself too. Some days are hard af. I hate that we so often feel so apprehensive to say it's hard af sometimes to not seem ungrateful.

"Gratitude can always exist. As it does. It's magical. But sometimes it's hard af. And that's ok. It's a lot. We are allowed to be sad, overwhelmed and feel completely lost and alone even inside the magic moments. We are human.

"Love you all seriously. If you see me out and about and have just had a baby. Come give me a hug. We both need it."

Jessie has shared numerous candid posts detailing the new chapter in her life, including one giving fans an inside look at her baby's demanding feeding schedule in another Instagram post.

The pop star shared a series of images depicting her nighttime routine, including an hour-by-hour breakdown of her evenings and a candid picture of herself fast asleep with her foot resting on top of her breast pump.

Fans praised her honesty, writing: "Thank you for sharing and normalizing breastfeeding, pumping & the dedication that it requires! I appreciate you!", while another added: "Breastfeeding is extremely tiring but worth it!! Keep it going girl you got this!!!!"

One wrote: "That’s new mom life is real! You’re doing great", as another posted: "I love you so much, I love your way of transparency and not just 'status', I am very happy with the arrival of this little prince, I love you both very much".

Motherhood is a beautiful time, but it's ok to have days that are tough too.
