There's no doubt that The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the role that made Will Smith an internationally famous superstar, still holds up well as a classic American sitcom. Even today, people are still rewatching it and relieving their favourite moments, and the theme song never gets old either.

Which is why the following news will make Fresh Prince fans very happy indeed: Will Smith is reportedly working on a spin-off of the original series.

In a recent feature in The Hollywood Reporter, the outlet notes that Westbrook - Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's production company - is in charge of developing the new show. A title, production details or a projected release date is still to be confirmed.

In a recent interview with chat show host Graham Norton, Smith reminisced about his time on the show: "It was my very first role and I was very, very focused on being successful so I learnt the whole script and everyone else's lines. If you watch the first four or five episodes you can see I'm mouthing other people's lines. It's terrible and I can't bear to watch it."

He also weighed in on whether he would ever consider appearing in a reboot, adding: "Man, I'd have to be Uncle Phil in that one, now I'm nearly 50!"

Meanwhile, DJ Jazzy Jeff mentioned in an interview with Digital Spy that he'd be up for a reunion, stating: "There have been talks with people about doing something. I think it would be cool if they did it and go down memory lane again."

He added: "It's a blessing to be part of something that people still hold in high regard. You can't beat that. It's hard for people to keep their attention span normally, but to be able to keep it for all these years and transcend generations, put their kids onto it, this is deep."
