The Back To The Future movies are perhaps the most beloved trilogy in Hollywood history.

The first film of the franchise was released back in 1985, and saw teenager Marty McFly accidentally sent back to the year 1955, where he has to stop his mom having the hots for him and try to get her to fall in love with his peeping-tom of a father. It's not as creepy as it sounds, honest.

Back To The Future: Part II saw Marty visit the future with eccentric scientist Doc Brown, as they promised audiences hoverboards by 2015 (that never happened). And in Part III, Marty and Doc found themselves in the Old West, where they proved that Hill Valley had struggled an incredibly small gene pull for over a century.

Yes, the Back To The Future movies are as rewatchable and enjoyable today as they were thirty years ago, which is what makes them so adored by fans old and new.

And now, it's time to go back...

That's right, on Monday, May 11, the cast of the sci-fi adventure trilogy will be reunited for an online special of actor Josh Gad's Reunited Apart YouTube series.

The news was confirmed by Doc Brown actor Christopher Lloyd, who shared a video of the Delorean's iconic time-machine dashboard, with Monday's date punched in.

He captioned the video: "Coming together for a wonderful cause. Stay tuned..."

Gad, 39, also recently shared a screenshot of himself enjoying a Zoom call with leading cast members Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, with the other caller's faces covered. The Frozen star wrote alongside the image:

"Oops. Accidentally marked up this picture featuring all of the surprise guests we’ve assembled for next Monday’s #BackToTheFuture #ReunitedApart reunion in support of @projecthopeorg . Guess you’re just going to have to tune in Monday, May 11th at 9AM PT/12:00 PM EST to see for yourselves."

The reunion will be available to watch on Josh Gad's YouTube Channel, and has been organized in an attempt to raise money for COVID-19 relief efforts.

Below, Gad talks about the Reunited Apart episode, with a special appearance from actress Lea Thompson, who plays Marty's mom Lorraine Baines McFly in the trilogy.

Addressing the possibility of a fourth sequel, Christopher told Phoenix New Times back in 2018:

"Well, I think its a matter of, first of all, it’s important if Bob Zemeckis and Bob Gale are excited about doing another episode [of Back to the Future], I think, really, the most important thing is if they can come up with the right idea.

"I think that’s the challenge is to come up with something that really is as good as the originals.

"I suppose it could happen. I have not heard that they’re looking for that if they’ve made up their minds […] hey, here’s something we could do, and they believed in it then they might get going to do it."

When asked if he’d be interested in appearing in a fourth movie, Christopher replied: "I’d be delighted.

"I’d love to be in a fourth film, if they could come up with the right idea that extends the story and does it as well as the first three."
