Now that most of us are having to retreat indoors during this period of lockdown and self-isolation, more and more people are investing in Disney+: a brand-new streaming service with an absolutely gigantic library of classic movies.
Over the weekend, a number of social media users sat down to watch the cult rom-com Splash, starring Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah, which sees Hannah portray a mermaid who rescues a young man drowning, and has to evade the machinations of a mad scientist while falling in love.
Take a look at the original scene in the video below:

However, recently a lot of people rewatching the film have noticed that the Disney+ version features some pretty egregious censorship in one particular scene, with some terrible CGI used to disguise Hannah's butt.
The scene in question takes place at the beach, and sees Hannah's mermaid character Madison run into the ocean after planting a kiss on Tom Hank's. However, in a bid to keep her modesty intact, Disney's censors appear to have digitally lengthened her hair so it covers her backside, and ensured that it stays stuck to her rear-end.
Twitter-user Allison Pregler shared a short clip of the newly-edited scene and wrote: "Disney+ didn’t want butts on their platform so they edited Splash with digital fur technology."

Other Twitter-users were pretty weirded out by the change. For instance, one person wrote: "Disney also edited Lilo and Stitch so that in the scene where Lilo is hiding from Nani, she climbs out of a cabinet instead of the dryer."
Meanwhile, someone else chimed in: "I [hope] they sooner or later get that they can't have [family] friendly content and right next to it the Mandalorian killing people for money. That this show is somehow allowed there same with some kf the stuff in the MCU is truly a miracle... [sic]"
