Hollywood legend Doris Day has sadly died at age 97, her foundation says.

The iconic actress is best known for her work in the late 50s and 60s, in movies such as Calamity Jane, Pilow Talk and Love Me or Leave Me.
The Doris Day Animal Foundation confirmed that the Hollywood star had died early on Monday at her home in Carmel Valley, California.
She had celebrated her 97th birthday on April 3.
