Natasha Lyonne may be known for being an incredible actress, but it looks like her clapping has left some viewers a little perplexed.

The 44-year-old Orange Is The New Black star looked gracious in defeat at Monday night's Emmy Awards, losing out to Quinta Brunson in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Lyonne had been nominated for her incredible performance in the Peacock series Poker Face, where she plays cocktail waitress Charlie Cale, who has an uncanny ability to tell when people are lying.

Sadly, she missed out on the Emmy, but was spotted by viewers smiling and applauding Brunson on her victory. It was then that fans flocked to X to point out how Lyonne claps. Check out the moment below:

"Natasha Lyonne cannot clap," one person wrote, with a second X user joking: "Big fan of how natasha lyonne claps like it is her first day on earth and her first time clapping".

Another tongue-in-cheek comment read: "Natasha Lyonne might have lost the emmy but she’s showing off her professional clapping skills!"

"Natasha Lyonne never clapping correctly, i love you so," tweeted a fourth.

Unbelievably, this is not the first time the American Pie star has been called out on X for how she claps.

Back at the 2019 Emmys, Lyonne was once again center of attention over the way she bangs her hands together, with one viewer joking: "I feel like Natasha Lyonne just learned to clap 5 minutes before the broadcast."

Wearing a stunning gold gown, the red-headed start could be seen tentatively bringing her hands together while also keeping her fingers spread wide apart.

After seeing all the fuss that was being made over her clapping, Lyonne was happy to poke fun at herself, taking to X and retweeting a GIF, along with the caption: "New phone wha happen."

Of course, there's probably a very reasonable explanation behind it all - like Natasha probably just wants to protect her expensive manicure or heavy jewelry. But it really is times like this, that even when the world can seem like a dark place and that people are becoming increasingly divided, we can still all come together and point out that a celebrity claps funny.

It's why I love social media. Keep it up.
