Don't you hate it when the show you just finished binging ends and you have nothing left to watch? And what's worse, what if said show ends on a cliffhanger? And you're left to think about characters you feel like you know for the following year while you wait for the next instalment?
That's what fans of Netflix's Dead To Me are thinking right now. The dark comedy follows unlikely friends played by Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. The two meet at a therapy group for those who are grieving their dead spouses. And though I won't give away any spoilers, the successful first season ended in a surprising cliffhanger.
Though the first 10-episode season was only released in May of this year, the series has gotten rave reviews and has already been picked up for a second season. Christina Applegate announced the news earlier this month on Twitter:
Because the show was renewed less than a month after the first series aired, fans have high hopes for a quick turn around on the second instalment. Some speculate for a release date in Spring or Summer 2020. But that might just be wishful thinking so they don't struggle to find a new show to watch.
We know for sure that our two favourite leading ladies will return. Other than that, don't get too comfortable. Season one's numerous twists and turns means you likely have no idea what to expect from season two. Liz Feldman, the creator of the show, says in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:
“This show will always be a show that explores the dark sides and the light sides of grief, loss, forgiveness and friendship. So suffice to say, there will be more darkness.”

Feldman also confirms that season two will not be what you think it will. What she does disclose about the follow-up, however is:
“There’s an evening of the score and there’s a rebalancing that will take place and almost, in some ways, a role reversal.”
Sounds to me like it's not worth finding another show. Rather, sit in the anticipation. Soak in the coming of season two. Go out and stock up on some popcorn. Sit back and wait. It'll be worth it, I promise.
