A woman and former vegan who suffered from devastatingly-painful constipation, says that switching to a diet that consists almost entirely of raw meat has helped improve her health tenfold, and even cured her of her bowel issues.

The 56-year-old wedding officiant named Eva LaRoche, who hails from Chicago, Illinois, says that the cause of her digestive issues was her under-active thyroid gland. For those of you not in the know, the thyroid gland produces hormones to regulate how the body processes food, and if it is underdeveloped then digestion can be as painful as childbirth in some cases.

After six years of veganism, Eva says her digestive problems and health deteriorated. But after reading up on the so-called Paleolithic diet in 2007, Eva began consuming only meat, fruit, vegetables and nuts. Now she dines on raw steak and offal – including brains, liver and kidneys, and garnishes her meaty meals with chunks of animal fat.

Commenting on her newfound diet in a recent interview, Eva stated: "I feel better so much fitter and stronger now, and I have the body I had when I was 25. Straight away I saw an overall improvement to my health and I went from having boulder-hard poo to soft and regular bowel movements every day. On top of that, I haven’t got sick once."

"My whole life I had tried everything to fix [my constipation] - which has been so bad at times that going to the toilet felt like giving birth - but nothing worked ... As soon as I discovered raw carnivorism, within days, my constipation was cured. It’s really done wonders for my health more generally, too. I never get colds any more, I’ve got much more energy and my body is fitter than it has ever been."

She added: "My family also think I’m pretty crazy eating the way I do, but they have got used to it now and know that I do it because it makes me feel better. They say that eating raw pork can be dangerous, but I have never had a problem and I’m always very careful to source the animals I eat and only get them from responsible farmers."

"I’ve spent a lifetime struggling with my health and now that I have found something that works for me, I’m not going to stop just because it seems strange to other people."

However, as inspirational as Eva's new diet might seem, it is important that you discuss any drastic dietary changes with your doctor first. So if you're planning a radical revamp, consult an expert for your own safety!
