Now, be prepared. Speaking as a Friends fan for the last 25 years, I now cannot unsee (or unhear) this every time I watch an episode. You've been warned.
Taking to TikTok, user @cts.trphe shared his video responding to a question about a trope in the media that couldn't be unseen once it was pointed out.
"What I'm about to say is going to ruin your life, especially if you are a big fan of the show Friends. If you are a big fan of that show, I'm begging you, scroll away, because I'm going to ruin your life," he said.
He goes on: "Jennifer Aniston has this sort of vocal tic that she does at the beginning of every single sentence that she starts, on any show that she's in. It's very specific and it's very hard to un-see once you notice it."
Check it out below:@cts.trphe then proceeds to show a montage of Rachel scenes featuring her habit - she seems to instinctively clear her throat before delivering her line.
The quickly went viral, amassing million views, more than 190,000 likes, and nearly 2,000 comments at the time of writing.
And he certainly isn't wrong, just check out this montage below:
A number of people have since taken to the comments to share that they had also noticed Aniston's habit, with one revealing: "I subconsciously knew what it was and I MADE THE SOUND before you played it."
Another agreed: "Yes!! She does this so much"
A third person said: "I noticed this a long time ago tbh I always loved it. Makes the character real."
Others had a perfectly reasonable explanation for the "vocal tic", with one writing: "I thought it was just acting? To indicate that the character is like uncomfy she only seems to do it in situations that are a little awkward."
And yes, it certainly does appear to be something Aniston did to show that Rachel was awkward or about to speak up.
On the YouTube video shared above, one person commented: "I honestly can't believe how many times she does this."
A second quipped: "The One Where Rachel Clears Her Throat."

"Drove me NUTS, I noticed this constantly over the years, yet never saw anyone else acknowledge it," another person commented.
Nevertheless, somebody had the actress' back, with one person commenting: "This isn’t a Jennifer thing! It’s a Rachel thing. She’s acting! It’s only in specific moments not all the freaking time."
Of course, Jennifer Aniston doesn't do the vocal habit at the start of every sentence, but now that this TikToker has pointed it out, I can't help but notice it every single time I watch the show.
