An eagle-eyed Friends fan has spotted a hilarious continuity error involving Ross and Monica Geller's dad Jack.
In the scene, the Gellar patriarch is seemingly replaced by a complete stranger.
The fan, who goes by the username @bronniiieee, took to TikTok upon noticing the bizarre replacement and shared the scene for her followers to see.
The TikToker captioned the video: "Who is THAT?" before adding: "In all my Friends fan years, how have I never noticed this guy before?"
The scene in question is from The One in Massapequa (Season 8, Episode 18).
The episode sees the gang go to Massapequa for Monica and Ross' parents' 35th anniversary. While there, Monica tries her best to impress the crowd with her speech, Ross and a pregnant Rachel pretend to be married, and Phoebe's date Parker (played by Alec Baldwin) irritates pretty much everyone.
Check it out here:The part of the scene that @bronniiieee includes in the video shows Ross and Rachel talking to Ross' mom and dad, Judy and Jack (played by Christina Pickles and Elliot Gould respectively).
However, when Judy walks off and the scene cuts, Jack is replaced by a completely different person. What's more, the stand-in looks nothing like him. He's a lot shorter and he even has a pair of glasses, unlike the original actor that he replaced in a matter of seconds.
Needless to say, commenters had plenty to say about the supposed error. One person even noticed another error, adding: "But let's talk about how the photo in the background is the same clothes as [they're] wearing now lol."
Another said: "Also let me ruin this even more - the picture behind them for the anniversary is them that day. They are also in Monica's apartment."
But according to Digital Spy, there's a very good explanation for Jack's replacement in the scene, which actually didn't feature when the show originally aired.
It has everything to do with the hit 90s show joining Netflix's programming. You see, back in the 90s, TV shows were typically filmed in the 4:3 aspect ratio.
These days, though, we have wider screens and so 16:9 has become standard. This means that fans are watching a wider angle of the show, which includes all the extras and other bits and bobs that were never supposed to be seen.
