After Jennifer Aniston made some damning comments about a guest star on Friends, the accused individual has stepped forward.

Friends is one of the greatest sit-coms of all time and even if you aren't a fan, you've definitely heard of it.

The show ran from the 90s to the early 2000s but it's still alive and well as people flock back to rewatch it each year.

During the show, there were many people who appeared in a few episodes and went on to become huge stars.

Brad Pitt and Paul Rudd come to mind.

But not every guest star appeared to get on well with the cast.

During an interview with Howard Stern, Jennifer Aniston recounted an instance where one actor displayed a less-than-enthusiastic attitude about his brief stint on the show.

Recalling the experience, Aniston explained: “And I remember when we were doing a network run-through, the network and the producers would just laugh. And this person would be like, ‘Listen to them, just laughing at their own jokes. So stupid, not even funny.’”

Aniston was shocked by the guest star’s behavior, saying: “It was just like, ‘What are you doing here? Your attitude, this is not what we’re all about. This is a wonderful, warm place to be, and you’re coming into our home and just s*** on it.’”

Though the actor later apologized, admitting he had been "so nervous" at the time, Aniston chose not to disclose his identity during the interview.

Since then, actor Fisher Stevens, who guest-starred in Friends as Phoebe’s psychiatrist boyfriend Roger in season one, has stepped forward to admit that he was the "rude" guest actor Aniston referenced.

Appearing on PeopleTV’s Couch Surfing, Stevens reflected on his behavior during the Friends episode, acknowledging that he didn’t approach the role with the right attitude.

“At that moment in my career, I had never done a sitcom before,” Stevens admitted. “I had never heard of Friends because it was just the beginning of the show, and I didn’t watch TV at the time much.”

Stevens explained that after flying from New York to Los Angeles to film his scenes, he was frustrated to learn that many of his lines had been rewritten.

"Because that’s what sitcoms did. And I didn’t know that," he added. "I was kind of an a*****e, I have to admit. ‘What do you mean? So I have to relearn lines that you’ve written that are worse than what you’d originally written?’ Yeah, I was a d***."

Although Stevens hasn’t crossed paths with the Friends cast much since his appearance, he expressed remorse for his behavior.

“I’m sorry, guys. I’m sorry I was a d*** to you all. I apologize. I was bad, I was wrong,” he said, adding that if the cast remembers him, it’s likely as a “New York snob."
