The line-up for the return episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! this evening has been announced.

The late-night talk show returns after a brief suspension following comments made by the host in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s murder.

Despite the show being allowed back on the air, many stations won’t be showing it.

Two big ABC affiliate owners won’t show Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight

Ahead of the return of the show, the two largest owners of ABC-affiliated stations across the USA announced that they would continue to ‘preempt the show’, instead showing other programming.

That means that they won’t see any of the guests that are lined up to appear on the show tonight.

But who will be joining Jimmy for a - presumably uncontroversial - chat?

Well, the top billing goes to Glen Powell and Sarah McLachlan, who will appear to discuss their current projects.

Powell is plugging sports comedy Chad Powers, which premieres on Hulu on September 30, whereas McLachlan, as well as performing, is there to promote an ABC documentary called Lilith Fair: Building A Mystery, about the female-fronted festival that she created.

That documentary is out on September 21.

Sarah McLachlan spoke out in support of Kimmel

McLachlan herself was a vocal supporter of the host after the show was suspended last week because of comments Kimmel made about Tyler Robinson, the suspect accused of shooting Charlie Kirk dead.

She - and other stars - decided against performing at the premiere of the documentary in protest of ABC owner Disney’s decision to pull the show off the air.

McLachlan said: ““It’s a gift for all of us to see [this film], but also I’ve grappled with being here tonight and around what to say about the present situation that we are all faced with, the stark contraction to the many advances we’ve made watching the insidious erosion of women’s rights, of trans and queer rights, the muzzling of free speech,

“I think we’re all fearful for what comes next, and none of us know, but what I do know is that I have to keep pushing forward as an artist, as a woman to find a way through, and though I don’t begin to know what the answer is, I believe we all need to work towards a softening to let in the possibility of a better way, because I see music as a bridge to our shared humanity, to finding common ground.”

Jimmy Kimmel Live! starts at 11:35pm ET tonight.
