Haunting of Hill House gripped and terrified in equal measure, but if fans of the series thought season two was going to be an easier ride, then star Victoria Pedretti is here to tell you that you're sorely mistaken.
Yes, Netflix's Haunting of Hill House was about as relaxing as watching Arsenal play with 10 men for 70 minutes against Chelsea away at Stamford Bridge, and almost equally gripping.
Whether you're more spooked by being made to jump out of your skin, or that creeping, psychological horror that stays with you for days afterwards, Haunting of Hill House delivered both in bucket loads.
Haunting of Hill House season two has cast its lead, check out the announcement video right here:Of course, fans of the series are already quivering with excitement and anticipation for the second season. Entitled The Haunting of Bly Manor, the second season finds its roots in Henry James' seminal novel The Turning of the Screw. Anyone who's read James' book will already be aware that Victoria Pedretti's character - a young governess named Dani - is in for a pretty rough ride.
And Pedretti herself has revealed that Bly Manor will, in some ways, be even more intense than the impossibly thrilling Haunting of Hill House.
In an interview with Nylon, Pedretti spoke of her excitement for the second season, saying;
"I'm really excited about it. In some ways, it is [more intense] than season one. It's its own thing. Even though it's the second season of a show that I've been in before, almost everything is different."
One little gem to be uncovered in the Nylon interview, though, is that Pedretti's new character will have blonde hair. She said, "She's completely different; nothing like [her season one character] Nell".
This fascinating video shows just how brilliantly well written Haunting of Hill House was:She was also quizzed on a popular fan theory from the finale of season 2 of Netflix's wildly successful You. Many fans have speculated that the woman Joe spots at the end of the season is his mother. Here's what Pedretti had to say about the rumour;
"He's like, 'Hello, you.' Why would he say that to his mother? Or it's his mother and he doesn't know it? Or his mother has somehow gotten out of the habitual natures of her entire life and finds herself living in the suburbs?"
I guess we'll just have to wait and see, folks.
The Haunting of Bly Manor is yet to have an official release date, but is anticipated to premiere sometime this year, likely around Halloween.
