South Park is taking no prisoners with their latest season.
If you've ever watched an episode of the show, you'll know that South Park has no issue with not only pushing boundaries but also outright ignoring them.
The charm of it is that nobody is safe, and they tend to use current events as the premise for each episode.
And given that the US has a lot going on right now, they're certainly not short of content.
Well, the most recent episode that revolved around the recent ICE raids has caused quite a stir.
In the episode’s B-plot, the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, is shown repeatedly killing puppies while a makeup crew frantically works to keep her face from drooping.
The over-the-top scenes draw on two real-life talking points: her autobiography — in which she recounts shooting a dog in a fit of anger, a story she seemed to believe reflected well on her — and her much-discussed “MAGA makeover.”
The animated mayhem escalates as the fictional Noem offs Krypto, Superman’s loyal dog, before the gag carries into the end credits.
The final shot is Noem strolling into a pet store with a rifle in hand, where she can be heard shooting multiple dogs.
Noem has clearly watched the episode, and it has ruffled a few feathers.
Speaking to CNN, Noem didn’t dispute the outrageous premise, but she did take issue with what she sees as a tired, sexist jab at her appearance.
“It’s so lazy, it constantly makes fun of women for how they look. Only the liberals and the extremists do that,” Noem said during a call-in to the network.
“If they wanted to criticize my job, go ahead and do that, but clearly they can’t. They just pick something petty like that.”
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, have not issued a response - but if it's anything like past controversies, they probably won't care.
This wasn't the only talking point of the episode, as it took aim at Charlie Kirk and also saw Dora the Explorer be seemingly trafficked to "Mar-a-Lago Island".
The episode opens with South Park Elementary counselor Mr. Mackey losing his job, then turning to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for work. His first assignment is joining a raid on the set of Dora the Explorer.
Mackey’s over-the-top success in the Dora raid earns him a “reward” — a trip to Mar-a-Lago.
But instead of golf and sunshine, he’s offered a threesome with Satan and Trump, complete with references to the former president’s alleged connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
In one surreal twist, Dora is reimagined as a “masseuse” at the resort, caught in a disturbing situation before making her escape.
