A crew member working on the upcoming fifth installment of the Indiana Jones movie series has been found dead.

As reported by the New York Post, 54-year-old camera operator Nic Cupac was found dead in his hotel room while on location in the city of Fes in Morocco.

The Sun adds that Cupac was one of 100 crew members who had recently flown out to the city in order to prepare for a major stunt involving a rickshaw.

Reports say that although Cupac's cause of death has not been publicly disclosed, it is believed he died of "natural causes".

Cupac was an industry veteran who had worked on movies for franchises such as Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Harry Potter. Speaking to The Sun, friends described him as a "lovely man", who was known for his infectious laugh and dry wit.

The Post adds how this is the latest line of issues the upcoming movie has faced during its production.

Back in June, lead star Harrison Ford suffered a severe shoulder injury in Italy that led to filming being halted for three months. And just last week, the 79-year-old movie legend was unable to fly to Morocco when the country banned flights to and from the UK amid the pandemic.

The fifth installment of the franchise was scheduled to be released back in July of this year, but was then pushed back to July 29 as a result of the ongoing pandemic. Last month, Disney announced that the movie will hit theaters in the summer of 2023.

The crew member's death also comes two weeks after the death of 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was fatally shot after actor Alec Baldwin discharged a functional prop firearm on the set of his movie, Rust.
