Kaley Cuoco has recalled her tearful meeting with Jim Parsons over his decision to end 'The Big Bang Theory' that left her in a state of shock.
Now, three years after the sitcom ended, Cuoco has opened up about what it was really like to say goodbye to her character.
In an interview with Variety for its cover story on Wednesday, February 24, the actress said that she was "blown away" by his decision to end the popular show.
She said that the series' co-creator, Chuck Lorre, called all the main cast into his office during the summer of 2018 to make the announcement, which was around the time that they began filming the 12th season.
Cuoco and her co-star Johnny Galecki had "talked a lot about" about there being a 13th series and they were expecting the group to discuss filming it.
However, it was then that Parsons broke the news: "Jim said, 'I don't think I can continue on.'"
She continued, "I was so shocked that I was literally like, 'Continue on with what?' Like, I didn't even know what he was talking about. I looked at Chuck: ‘Wow. I thought we were - I'm so blown away right now.'"
Cuoco said she went into "a state of shock" after the announcement.
After the sad news was broken, the Harley Quinn star said, everyone shared their "open feelings" and "there were questions and tears."
She also recalled Lorre telling the cast: "We're all for one, one for all. And we're not going to do this without the whole team."
Cuco explained that this was part of a long-standing promise for the show's team.
She said: "That was the one thing we all agreed on - we came in together, we go out together."

The actress said that the cast shed many more tears before the show was wrapped up for good and said that she cried with Galecki on set after they shot the series finale.
"It was a feel-good silly show, and these guys really were the heart of it," Cuoco told Variety. "They made the nerd thing cool and popular and sexy and fun. It was silly and people loved it. And I really loved my time on it."
In another interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said that she was happy with her character's ending.
"I'm thrilled with [Penny's] ending, yet beginning," she said. "It's beautiful. There's not anything catastrophic, it's just beautiful. And the characters are gonna live on in your minds and in your hearts, and I think that's what is so special about it. It's really touching."
