One of Kevin Spacey's accusers has reacted to the news that the actor is due to star in an upcoming movie.

Mark Ebenhoch - who accused the actor of soliciting him for sex on the set of the 1995 movie Outbreak - slammed Spacey being cast in a new project as "irresponsible and arrogant".

Speaking to TMZ, Ebenhoch stated that his first thought after hearing news of Spacey's upcoming role was, "What the hell?"

He then elaborated that he found the casting "absurd", and added that he is waiting for Spacey to offer him a public apology and to take full responsibility for the alleged misconduct.

Ebenhoch went on to say that he hopes the producers of the new film have made sure the actor has been watched closely while on set in case of any further impropriety.

Per ABC News, the 61-year-old House of Cards star, who was accused by multiple men of grooming, sexual harassment, and sexual abuse in 2017, is reportedly starring in an as-yet-unreleased Italian film.

Directed by Franco Nero, The Man Who Drew God will see Spacey's character investigating another man wrongfully accused of being a pedophilic predator.

In an interview with ABC, Nero commented on the casting:

"I'm very happy Kevin agreed to participate in my film. I consider him a great actor and I can't wait to start the movie."

Spacey has kept a relatively low profile since he was accused by a number of men, including Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp, of sexual misconduct. His last appearance on the big screen in the 2018 feature film Billionaire Boys Club.

However, in a three-minute-long video posted to YouTube in December of 2018, the actor appeared again in character as fictional President Frank Underwood.

In a monologue addressed to the camera, Spacey appeared to allude to the allegations against him, stating: "They're just dying to have me declare that everything said is true and that I got what I deserved.

"Wouldn't that be easy? If it was all so simple. Only you and I both know it's never that simple, not in politics, not in life.

"But you wouldn’t believe the worst without evidence, would you? You wouldn’t rush to judgment without facts, would you?"
