Kristen Bell is all set to reprise her role as the narrator for HBO Max's upcoming Gossip Girl reboot, Insider reports.

The 39-year-old actress has signed on to reprise her role as the omniscient narrator in the beloved teen drama's comeback.

Bell was the voice of the show's anonymous blogger in the series’ original run from 2007 to 2012, and so the Gossip Girl's dedicated viewers will be pleased to learn that they will be sticking with tradition.

"Kristen Bell has always been and will always be the voice of Gossip Girl," the producers of the new series said in a statement on Thursday 7 November.

In July, Warner Media announced that a Gossip Girl spin-off would be added to its streaming site, HBO Max.

The new series will be made by the show’s original creative team, including creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and writer Joshua Safran. It will take place eight years after the end of the original series which centered around Serena van der Woodsen (played by Blake Lively), Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) and Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) have concluded.

It will introduce a brand new generation of private school teens from New York to the world of Gossip Girl.
