Marvel has just released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming movie Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The trailer shows Tom Holland's Peter Parker in a brand new suit; assisted in his endeavors by the Master of the Mystic Arts, Doctor Strange.

Take a look at the action-packed new trailer for the movie right here:

A number of cast members from previous Marvel movies are returning, such as Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, and reportedly Michael Keaton as The Vulture.

Intriguingly, a number of actors who previously appeared in Spider-Man movies which were not a part of the MCU, such as Sam Rami's Spider-Man trilogy, and Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man films, have been confirmed to star in No Way Home.

These include Alfred Molina, reprising the role of Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus, Jamie Foxx as Electro, and J.K. Simmons as Jonah Jameson.

In the trailer, it appears as though Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn/Green Goblin is making a return - as viewers picked up on his sinister laugh and a Pumpkin Bomb.

These casting choices led many fans to speculate that some kind of multiversal crossover might be in the works; as hinted by the plotlines of Spider-Man: Far From Home, and the Disney+ TV spin-off Loki.

In a recent interview with Collider, Holland spoke about the script for the third Spider-Man movie, stating:

"It's easily the most ambitious standalone superhero film I’ve even been a part of. It's incredibly exciting, it's funny, it's emotional, it's anything that you’d want in a superhero film."

Meanwhile, Molina spoke about returning to the world of tights and capes while speaking with Variety on his role in the movie Promising Young Woman, stating:

"When we were shooting it, we were all under orders not to talk about it, because it was supposed to be some great big secret. But, you know, it’s all over the internet. I actually described myself as the worst kept secret in Hollywood!"

Molina added: "It was very interesting going back after 17 years to play the same role, given that in the intervening years, I now have two chins, a wattle, crow's feet, and a slightly dodgy lower back."

Spider-Man: No Way Home is due to be released in cinemas on December 17, 2021.
