If you're on the hunt for a series that gets the heart racing, then Netflix has you covered.
This NSFW series - which has been snapped by the streaming giant - has been described as steamier than Bridgerton, so make sure you don't watch it with the wrong company!
On top of that, the show boasts an incredible 97% on Rotten Tomatoes!
Harlots, created by Hulu and released in 2017 on ITV Encore and later broadcast on BBC Two, dives into the booming sex industry of 18th-century London.
It follows the feuding madams Margaret Wells (Samantha Morton) and Lydia Quigley (Lesley Manville) alongside the sex workers who live in their brothels.
All three seasons of the critically acclaimed series, set in Georgian England in the 1760s, are now available to stream on Netflix as of July 1.
While Bridgerton is known for its steamy romances, Harlots pushes boundaries from its very first episode, which opens with a montage of the Harlots having sex with customers and sees Margaret selling her daughter’s virginity to pay off a court fine after a raid.
The series boasts an impressive cast, including Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey) as a prostitute, Hugh Skinner (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) as an aspiring MP using her services, and Liv Tyler (Lord of the Rings) as an aristocrat.
Influenced by the 1700s prostitution guidebook Harris’s List Of Covent Garden Ladies, the show was originally released on ITV Encore, then moved to Hulu for US audiences, before the BBC acquired UK broadcast rights in 2020, giving it renewed attention.
Lesley Manville shared her excitement about its BBC debut at the time, telling Radio Times: “Yes! I hadn’t thought of that, I hadn’t thought of that at all. We finished season three and I think we all thought that was it. You know, there might be [a series renewal]! Let’s start writing the letters now.
“I’d always be interested - obviously I’d be interested, I had nothing but a pleasurable time doing all three series, and it was one of those blissful jobs, so I’d definitely [give] that a lot of consideration but it’s certainly not something that’s been talked about.
“Maybe you could start a campaign.”
She also noted it felt “hidden away” in programming schedules during its original release, saying she was “delighted” it was getting a second life on the BBC.
Harlots introduces viewers to a world of power struggles, ambition, and betrayal as Margaret Wells, eager to move her business to the more upmarket Greek Street in Soho, finds her plans foiled when Lydia orchestrates a raid with the help of religious zealot Florence Scanwell (Dorothy Atkinson).
The arrival of Harlots on Netflix follows the streamer’s announcement of seasons five and six of Bridgerton, with series four slated for 2026 and featuring Luke Thompson’s Benedict Bridgerton and newcomer Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).
According to The Sun, Netflix has invested heavily in continuing the beloved series, with rumors that the show may jump ahead to Francesca’s story following the introduction of Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza), a gender-swapped version of Michael Stirling from Julia Quinn’s novels.
A TV insider told The Sun: “After introducing the controversial gender swap at the end of series three, which saw Michael Stirling switched to Michaela, there is a chance execs could skip ahead to Francesca’s story.
"They certainly weren’t afraid to dabble with Julia Quinn’s timeline by swapping the order of Colin and Benedict’s tales.”
