Netflix has dropped the trailer for the fifth season of Lucifer.
The fourth season of the hit urban crime drama hit the streaming platform last May, and ended with the titular Devil - played by Tom Ellis - returning to Hell just after Detective Chloe Decker - played by Lauren German - confessed her love for him.
Now, the new trailer promised a "tumultuous return" from everyone's favorite devil.

The description for the trailer reads: "Lucifer makes a tumultuous return, Chloe rethinks romance, Ella finally finds a nice guy, and Amenadiel adjusts to the whole fatherhood thing."
Not a lot is known about the upcoming season, but in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ellis did reveal that episode four - titled 'It Never Ends Well for the Chicken' - will be set in an alternative universe.
Being careful not to give away too much about the episode's plot, Ellis said that the whole cast of the show finds themselves in the 1940s, with the entire episode filmed in black and white.
Ellis also confirmed the Lucifer gang will be taking on "new persons with vastly different 'characteristics'".
However, rumors about the show's fifth season blew up when German also spoke with EW's Katie Krause.
The interview can be seen below:

Dressed in her 1940s costume, eagle-eyed fans noticed that German was wearing a gold wedding band on her ring finger - leading many to speculate whether or not we will see Lucifer and Chloe marry in the upcoming season.
