Netflix has confirmed that You will return for a third season, with both Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti reprising their roles as Joe and Love.

If you're not caught up yet, check out the intense trailer to season two:

The show is based on the books YOU and Hidden Bodies by author Caroline Kepnes, and follows the story of one man's obsession with finding the perfect relationship.

Season two saw Joe Goldberg move to LA to avoid the ex-girlfriend Candice, where he adopted the new identity of Will Bettelheim. The series then descended into a chaotic mix of stalking, kidnapping, substance abuse, parent issues, baking, acid trips, and - of course - murder.

The news was confirmed by the official Netflix UK & Ireland Twitter account, in a post that read: "Breaking: You will return for a third season. As in, the show. Called You. Not *you*. You know?"

This was followed up by another tweet poking fun at the series' name:

Per Entertainment Weekly, the third season will feature 10 episodes from executive producers Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti, with both Badgley and season 2 newcomer Victoria Pedretti (Haunting of Hill House) set to reprise their roles as soon-to-be parents and serial killers Joe and Love.

Although author Caroline Kepnes is yet to complete the third written installment, it is still unknown just how much the Netflix series will deviate from her writing (as they have in the past).

The new season is set to premiere in 2021.
