Gossip Girl fans have eagerly been awaiting the upcoming reboot, which is finally due to land on our screens today (July 8)! I mean, it's been nearly a decade since we've heard the sinister, spine-tingling chimes of "XOXO Gossip Girl."
To celebrate the new iteration of everyone's favourite teen drama, we took a look back at the original cast, and what they're up to now, all these years later...

Leighton Meester — Blair Waldorf
The Upper East Side's Queen B has gone onto star in films such as That's My Boy and The Judge. She also had a starring role in the television Single Parents.
In 2014, she married fellow teen heartthrob, Adam Brody, of The O.C. fame, after they met on the set of The Oranges. The pair welcomed a daughter, Arlo Day Brody, the following year, and a son — whose name they have not revealed — in 2020.

Blake Lively — Serena Van der Woodsen
Blake Lively has gone onto have an A-list Hollywood career since leaving the set of Gossip Girl. She has starred in the likes of The Shallows, A Simple Favour, and The Age of Adaline.
She also married Ryan Reynolds in 2012, whom she met while filming The Green Lantern. The happy couple have three daughters, James, Inez and Betty.

3. Ed Westwick — Chuck Bass
After playing Manhattan's most notorious bachelor, British actor, Ed Westwick, scooped up roles in Chalet Girl, Romeo and Juliet, Bone in the Throat, and the TV series, White Gold.
In late 2017, the actor was accused of rape by two women, and sexual assault by a third, per The Guardian. The following summer, the Los Angeles County District Attorney declined to prosecute Westwick after determining there was not enough evidence to file charges in two instances, with the third accuser reportedly failing to cooperate with investigators.

Chace Crawford — Nate Archibald
Chace Crawford played the Upper East Side's resident dreamboat, Nate Archibald. The actor has since gone onto star in the films, Eloise and All About Nina.
He has also picked up roles in television shows including Blood & Oil, and is currently featuring in the Amazon original series, The Boys.

Penn Badgley — Dan Humphrey
Penn Badgley went on to play another "lonely boy", Joe Goldberg in You — the psychological thriller that sees his character stalking his love interests and eventually committing murder.
The Gossip Girl alum married the singer Domino Kirke in 2017, and adopted her son as his own shortly after. Last year, they welcomed a son, named James.

Taylor Momsen — Jenny Humphrey
Taylor Momsen played Jenny Humphrey — who had quite the character arc in later seasons, as she went from being Blair Waldorf's minion to total outcast. However, Momsen left the hit show in 2010 to form and front her rock band, The Pretty Reckless, when she was just 17-years-old.
She's stayed focused on her music, and has largely been out of the limelight since the end of Gossip Girl. The Pretty Reckless have released four studio albums.

Jessica Szohr — Vanessa Abrams
Vanessa Abrams, played by Jessica Szohr, was Dan Humphry's BFF, and fellow social outcast.
Since her days on Gossip Girl, Szhor has starred in the films, The Internship, Ted 2, and Two Night Stand. She's also made appearances on the TV shows, Kingdom, Shameless, and The Orville.
The actor gave birth to her first child, daughter Bowie Ella, with her hockey player boyfriend, Brad Richardson back in January of 2021. Congrats!

Kelly Rutherford — Lily Van der Woodsen
WASP-y mum, Lily Van der Woodson is one of the best known supporting characters on Gossip Girl, not least because of her on-and-off relationship with Rufus Humphry — which made their kids' lives, well, difficult.
But Rutherford has had a busy career since. She's landed recurring roles on Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and Dynasty.

Matthew Settle — Rufus Humphry
Dad to Dan and Jenny, Rufus Humphry, had his fair share of drama throughout the show, what with his aforementioned relationship with Lily Van der Woodsen.
Since his days on Gossip Girl, Settle has kept a pretty low profile. He hasn't posted on social media in a number of years, and has only starred in a handful of films, including 2017's Valentine.
