Now, if you're anything like me, you can easily spend more time looking for something to watch than actually watching a show.
Seriously, over the years, I'd love to know just how much of my subscription fees have gone on mindlessly scrolling rather than watching a series or movie.
However, Netflix users are now learning about "secret" codes that can be typed into the search bar that will remove the hassle from finding something to watch -- and one code in particular has people raving.
Netflix may be known for some great movies and series - but the platform has also become synonymous with the True Crime genre in recent years. This is down to the success of docs and series such as American Nightmare, Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey, and The Man with 1000 Kids.
Well, if you're like everyone else around the world who loves gore and drama, then you'll be happy to learn that typing in code 9875 into the Netflix search bar will serve you all the most popular True Crime series on the platform.
How Do Netflix Codes Work?
It’s simpler than you might think:
Open a web browser (this trick doesn’t work in the Netflix app).
Add the code for your desired genre at the end of the URL (e.g., "8711" for horror).
Hit enter, and you’ll be whisked away to a curated list of titles in that category.
Look, I even tested it out myself:

After learning about the code, people were quick to share the revelation on X (formerly Twitter), with one Netflix user writing: "Guys, if you love True Crime docs & you have Netflix, here's a hack to make life easier.
"Go to the search box & type in '9875' & every true crime doc they have will pop up. It's an easier, quicker & more organized search than going through what they advertise on your home page."
The post was quickly flooded with comments from other grateful users, with one person writing: "Thank you!"
