It's safe to say that Squid Game is a smash hit show all over the world.
Since being released on September 17, the nine-part South Korean series has hit the number one spot on Netflix in countries all over the world - including the United States and the UK. Per NBC News, Netflix's co-CEO Ted Sarandos has stated that the show is currently on track to become the most successful "non-English-language show in the world".
Sarandos even added that the thrilling series is set to become the streaming giant's "biggest show ever".
The South Korean show is currently available to watch with 37 different languages for subtitles and 34 dubs - opening it up to a huge number of people around the world.
Squid Game follows the quest of 456 desperate contestants who agree to take part in a series of children's games in an attempt to win millions of dollars. However, once they realize that they're also playing with their lives, chaos ensues and they are forced to battle against their morals and each other.
For anybody who has seen the show, it is no surprise why Squid Game has become so popular - it's beautifully acted, follows an intriguing concept, and visually looks unlike any show I personally have ever seen.
However, as with anything these days, people on social media think you can do better.
Yes, following the monumental praise of Squid Game, it wasn't long before viewers took to Twitter to reveal that Netflix users are overlooking a more superior show. Here's just a handful of tweets from people suggesting that if you enjoyed Squid Game, you should probably check out Alice in Borderland next...
So, what is Alice in Borderland?
Well, the Netflix original series first landed on the streaming platform back in December. The show is based on a Japanese manga series of the same name, which was created by author Hara Aso.
The official synopsis reads: "Arisu—a listless, jobless and video-game-obsessed young man—suddenly finds himself in a strange, emptied-out version of Tokyo in which he and his friends must compete in dangerous games in order to survive.
"In this strange world, Arisu meets Usagi, a young woman who’s navigating the games alone. Together, they set out to unravel one mystery after another as they risk their lives and confront what it means to live."
Check out the trailer for Alice in Borderland below:The show stars Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya, and was directed by Shinsuke Sato. After doing some research, I've seen some people describe it as a cross between The Hunger Games and Ready Player One.
Well... I know what I'm going to be watching for the next few nights.
