Ever since Friends ended, people have been revisiting the series, and it's safe to say that our opinions on the characters have changed significantly since the original run. Indeed, many people have reappraised the character of Ross Gellar upon rewatching the show, and your mileage may vary on this one, but plenty of people now believe that Ross isn't just a poor friend, but genuinely believe him to be a terrible person.

Back in the 90's, Ross was supposed to be the sympathetic guy that you were supposed to root for. Dumped by his wife Susan, ignored by Rachel, and continually being trampled on, Ross was intended to be the underdog who got the girl in the end. However, plenty of Friends fans see Ross as a pedantic know-it-all loser; a man who refuses to take responsibility for the consequences of his actions, and who needs to stop whining and get over his obsession with Rachel.

But if you think that Ross is the worst cast member of Friends, then this next piece of news will make you very happy indeed. A man has been spotted in CCTV footage stealing beer from a restaurant in Blackpool, England. Local police investigators took to Facebook to try to appeal to the public, in an attempt to identify the booze thief. However, amused social media users were more interested in the fact that the perpetrator looked uncannily like Ross Gellar.

Blackpool police captioned the picture: "Do you recognise this man? We want to speak to him in relation to a theft at a Blackpool restaurant on the 20th September. If you know who this is, please email [email protected] quoting log LC-20180920-0670. Thank you for your help."

Soon the comments were inundated with Friends fans making light of the whole situation. One person wrote: "Lay off him. He grew up with Monica. IF YOU DIDNT EAT FAST YOU DIDNT EAT! [sic]" while another added: "Please approach with caution. He is known to have studied Karate and we believe he has mastered the art of Unagi, the state of total awareness." Yeah, something tells me that these guys aren't taking this manhunt very seriously.

Blackpool Police eventually responded to the endless Friends jokes by issuing the following statement: "Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses. We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We're so sorry it has to be this way."

The post has been shared around 60,000 times and 'liked' 10,000, so it's likely that this will mean that the beer thief will be caught sometime in the near future. Man, I'd hate to be that guy right now, Sounds like it hasn't been his day, his week, his month or even his year. Still, I'm glad that David Schwimmer hasn't been on a mad Heineken heist as well.
