Actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen has been spotted filming in one of his iconic costumes for the character of Borat, titular character from the film of the same name. The footage has lead many to speculate as to whether a long-awaited sequel might be on the way, after years of rumor.

It was 2006 that the comedy was released, yet 14 years later it appears as though the character may be making a comeback of sorts.

Footage of Baron Cohen dressed in Borat's trademark grey suit was shared to TikTok by user @alexandheir, who was driving in Long Beach, California when they spotted the actor being pulled along in a battered pickup truck.

The video has already accrued more than 1.5 million views since it was uploaded yesterday.

Borat Sagdiyev, Baron Cohen's creation, is a journalist who ventures from Kazakhstan to the United States to learn about American culture. The original movie won a Golden Globe and was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2007 Oscars.

Per the Independent, Baron Cohen has twice reprised the role of Borat since the original movie - both times during appearances on Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show. Rumors of a follow-up movie have often surfaced in the intervening years since Borat was released but none has been forthcoming. Instead, Sacha Baron Cohen moved onto to other projects, such as the movies Bruno and political satire The Dictator.

In July, Baron Cohen attempted to meet Donald Trump ally Rudy Giuliani while disguised as a singer, per the Independent. Giuliani said of the meeting that Cohen was dressed in "a pink transgender outfit” for the meeting, "It was a pink bikini, with lace, underneath a translucent mesh top, it looked absurd. He had the beard, bare legs, and wasn’t what I would call distractingly attractive,” he went on.
