'School of Rock' star Kevin Clark dies aged 32

Kevin Clark, one of the stars of the beloved movie School of Rock, has died at the age of 32.

As reported by The Sun, the actor passed away on Wednesday, May 26, after being struck by a car while cycling through the Northwest Side of Chicago.

Police say he was struck by a Hyundai Sonata as he biked through the Northwest Side of Chicago in the early hours of the morning. The driver of the car was reportedly a 20-year-old woman who was later issued citations by police.

The Chicago Sun-Times states that Clark was struck by a Hyundai Sonata in the early hours of the morning, with emergency services finding him at Logan Boulevard.

From there, he was transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, but was pronounced dead at 2:04AM CT.

Clark was perhaps best known in the 2003 musical comedy School of Rock, in which he played band drummer Freddy Jones alongside lead star Jack Black.

In the movie, the student is known for his rebellious attitude and bestowed nickname, Spazzy McGee. Per TMZ, he once revealed he only got the role in the movie because he could play the drums. The Sun reports that Clark was just 12 years old in the movie.

School of Rock became Clark's only acting role.

Following the success of the movie, Clark went on to become a professional musician, with music fans knowing him as the drummer from the band Dreadwolf, among others.

His mother, Allison Clark, revealed that his latest music project, Jessie Bess and the Intentions, performed their first show on Saturday (May 22).
