Ted Bundy's ex-girlfriend and her daughter will be speaking out against the notorious serial killer in Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer, an upcoming documentary series on Amazon Prime, the Independent reports.

For the first time in four decades, Elizabeth Kendall will open up about her long-term relationship with Bundy in the five-part documentary series.

Take a look at the teaser trailer for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, starring Zac Efron as Ted Bundy:

The serial killer kidnapped, raped and murdered over 30 women in the 1970s and escaped jail twice, only to kill again. He is thought to be one of America's most notorious serial killers and was ultimately executed by electrocution in January 1989.

During their relationship, Bundy helped raise Kendall's daughter Molly, who was a toddler when the pair met.

Years later in 1981, Kendall wrote a book called The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy, which centred around their relationship. It has been 40 years since she spoke out about the famous murderer.

She will now, however, reveal "new unsettling details" about Bundy, discussing "the inconceivable pull he had on women", and share never-before-seen family photos.

According to the synopsis for the true-crime series released by Amazon, the show will lay bare "the disturbing and profound way in which Bundy's pathological hatred of women collided with the culture wars and feminist movement of the 1970s, culminating in what is perhaps the most infamous true-crime saga of our time."

They will be joined by a number of Bundy's survivors, some whom are speaking out for the very first time. They will give alarming accounts of their victimisation at the hands of Bundy, accounts that will supposedly "forever change the Bundy narrative" and "provoke a discussion around gender politics that hauntingly resonates today".

Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer will premiere on Amazon Prime in 2020.
