I can't deal with it, you guys.

Ever since Sam Jackson showed up as Nick Fury at the end of 2008's Iron Man, the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building up to one glorious, three-hour climax.

With the premiere of Avengers: Endgame now just a matter of days away, movie theatres across the country - nay, the world - will be primed for Marvel fans, eager and ready to see the delicious fruition of over a decade's worth of films.

Here's a trailer for Avengers: Endgame. Just to get you in the mood:

But as the countdown toward Endgame ticks to within 72 hours of the big reveal, there's one subset of the population who've already gotten to see it in whole: the critics, who got an advanced screening in anticipation of one of the biggest movie events of all time.

Now, unless you're a fan of the DC Extended Universe (RIP) or the Sony film Venom, you're probably going to want to hear what the film criticism scene has to say about Avengers: Endgame. Well, looking at all of these reactions, I think it's safe to say that they liked it.

"#AvengersEndgame is an astonishing, amazing film. I’ve never seen anything like it. This movie is everything I wanted to be and SO much more. Amazing," Brandon Davis said on Twitter. Meanwhile, Cinema Blend's Eric Eisenberg described the film as "perfect".

"This can't be understated: #AvengersEndgame is everything you want it to be and more. I am absolutely floored. A perfect reflection on the last 11 years that pays off everything in the best way possible. Without question my new favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Stunned."

Next, let's hear from Fandango's Erik Davis, who said:

"#AvengersEndgame is a masterful epic - a true culmination of 22 films that not only concludes the story, but expands upon it. You’ll learn more about the other movies while this one unfolds. If Infinity War is the brawn, Endgame is the brains. And wow, what an ending!"

Gizmodo’s Germain Lussier doubled down on that, describing the film as "everything you’re hoping for and more". At IGN, Laura Prudom called Avengers: Endgame a "fitting culmination of a decade of cinema," while her colleague Jim Vejvoda described it as "a fantastic way to close out this 22-film saga".

"Great action, great dramatic moments, and one helluva way to bring it all home. Truly moving and lots of awesome geek out moments. Make mine Marvel."

Finally, here's Slash Film's Peter Sciretta, who says the film surpasses any and all expectation you might have of it:

"Imagine the best possible version of Avengers: Endgame and somehow the film still surpasses all expectations. I cried 5-6 times. It’s the most emotional, most epic, MCU film. A tribute to ten years of this universe and holy sh*t the great fan service in this movie. Soooo good."

Wonderful! Here's some more Avengers footage from Marvel to get you somehow even more hyped:

Well, there you have it folks. If you were looking to manage expectations ahead of the big day, then you've probably come to the wrong article. Avengers: Endgame hits cinemas this Thursday!
