For many people growing up between 1979 to 1988, The Facts of Life was one of the most beloved sitcoms ever. Airing on NBC for nine years, the show followed the heartwarming adventures of a group of female students.
There was Blair Warner, Natalie Green, Jo Polniaczek and Tootie Ramsey, who all attend a boarding school, and later college, together, under the watchful eye of Edna Garrett and later her sister Beverly Ann Stickle.
However, now it turns out that the cast of The Facts of Life is reuniting for an all-new Chrismas movie, which will air over the holidays this year.
The project was masterminded by Kim Fields (Tootie), the star and executive producer, who describes these cast members as her 'sisters'. It was she who convinced the other members of the cast, which includes Lisa Whelchel, Mindy Cohn, and Nancy McKeon, to get involved with the upcoming Christmas movie and reunite.
Reminisce with this iconic scene from Will Ferrell's Elf:Commenting on the special in a statement delivered to PEOPLE magazine, Fields stated: "It’s been amazing to work together again and have the ladies’ input on their characters from their wardrobe to names, as well as provide fun inside jokes for fans."
She added: "I also had the production name the ice-skating rink in the movie after our dear friend, Charlotte Rae, who passed away last year (and played Edna Garrett on both The Facts of Life and Diff’rent Strokes). We truly are a family so it was great to work together on something new!"
The special is allegedly called: 'You Light Up My Christmas', and will premiere on Lifetime on December 1 as part of the channel's so-called' It's a Wonderful Lifetime' programming. So there you are: if you need to watch something cosy this Christmas, then this nostalgic movie might be just the thing for you.
