HBO has released the trailer for Big Little Lies season 2 - a show which was supposed to end after its initial run, but was given a second, seven-episode season due to popular demand.
Created by David E. Kelley, the show's new season, directed by Andrea Arnold, is sure to be just as dramatic and satirical as the first.
Check out the trailer below:The series is based on Liane Moriarty's 2014 novel and the latest set of episodes centring around the Monterey Five - Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Jane (Shailene Woodley), Renata (Laura Dern) and Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz) - will pick up from the traumatic events of the first season.
Celeste’s mother-in-law Mary Louise (Meryl Streep) and some of the women's husbands - Ed (Adam Scott), Nathan (James Tupper) and Gordon (Jeffrey Nordling) - will also be appearing.
The investigation into (spoiler alert) Perry’s death will continue, and his mother Mary Louise will arrive to help Celeste look after her twins. She will also go to great lengths to find out once and for all what went down the night her son died.
Only time will tell if the Monterey Five are able to keep their deep, dark secret from the police.
Big Little Lies returns June 9.
