Special effects are all part and parcel of modern movies, which is why we don't tend to question how impressive scenes are brought to life on the big screen in the way that we might have done in the past. Surely it's all just done on a computer, right?
While there is a lot of CGI in the iconic Twilight movies, it turns out that one of the films' most memorable effects was actually a lot more simple to film than you might think.
Now, on the off chance that you're unfamiliar with the books and/or movies, let me explain: the vampires famously run at superhuman speed.
But instead of creating this effect by speeding up the actors running against a green screen, it was instead made by pulling a treadmill along by a truck. Seriously.
The discovery was recently brought to light by TikTok user Chloee Weber when her friend sent her behind-the-scenes footage from the movies.
She subsequently shared a video of herself laughing to her 61,000 followers as she watches the actors on a treadmill being dragged through the woods on a truck.
With a hand over her mouth in amazement, Chloe gasps: "I don't know what I was expecting ... but it wasn't this."
Needless to say, Chloe's video did not go unnoticed on TikTok, and at the time of writing, it has received over 1.9 million likes from baffled users who couldn't believe this was how the vampire running was filmed.
Reacting to the footage alongside a laughing and a crying emoji, one TikTok user wrote: "No wonder Robert Pattinson hated twilight [sic] so much."
A second added: "I need the actual scene for comparison now... I've never seen twilight this makes it seem like it's a comedy [sic]."
A third wrote: "Emmett's running doesn't look so bad but why is Esme taking such TEENSY TINY STEPS???"
A fourth added: "If these [don't] go viral, nothing will."
Meanwhile, a fifth simply voiced what everyone must have thought prior to seeing this footage, writing: "You're telling me they didn't just turn on 3x."
This is proof that you never know what you'll find if you decided to watch your favorite movie's behind-the-scenes footage!
