With the world facing uncertain circumstances, many businesses have been ground to a halt - and that includes the television and movie industry.
However, it seems that the future of Jake Peralta and the rest of the Nine-Nine is still being determined, as production on the popular sitcom is underway.
The hit show's co-creator Dan Goor took to Twitter to share the news we were all secretly hoping for; Brooklyn Nine-Nine has started early production. Goor tweeted:
"I'm happy to announce that the #Brooklyn99 season 8 writers room started (remotely) today. The fact that the show has endured for this long is a testament to our amazing actors, crew, and writers, and to our fans, who are the best in the world. Thank you! Stay safe! Nine-Nine!"
But what can we expect from season eight?
Well, back in February, Jake Peralta actor Andy Samberg was asked by Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show about what dream guest he'd love to have on the show, who which Samberg replied: "For us, there's one. My character is obsessed with Die Hard, so we've long said that getting Bruce Willy would be like a huge thing.
"I mean, I've appealed many times for this, I think maybe he's like waiting for the end to surprise us and shock the world, or, he hates me."
In fact, the 41-year-old star is so desperate for Willis to appear on the show that he issued a desperate plea on while appearing at 2018's San Diego Comic-Con, starring straight into Entertainment Tonight's camera and saying:
"I know we've asked him like 10 times already, but I personally haven't.
"Hey Bruce - look, my character Jake Peralta on the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which is moderately successful, is obsessed with Die Hard and thinks that your character John McClane is the coolest character in the history of cinema.
"I, Andy Samberg, I'm a comedian, also feel that way. If you'd come be on the show, even if it's for one sentence, like a cool cameo, like we bump on each other on the street and you go, 'Excuse me,' and then walk away.
"If you had it in your schedule to breeze by just for one shot, I think it would mean a lot to the show, to the fan base."
We'll just have to see if Willis will taken them up on the offer. It certainly would be "noice" if he did pop up.
