Florence Pugh has fired back at critics of the sheer pink dress she wore at Valentino's Haute Couture fashion show last week.
The 26-year-old actress walked the red carpet at the luxury fashion brand's show on Friday (July 8) and shared photos of the gorgeous but daring look on social media.
The Midsommar star was seen donning a hot pink see-through gown by the brand and was joined by fellow actresses Anne Hathaway, Ariana DeBose, and Ashley Park at the fashion event.
On Saturday (July 9), Pugh posted a series of snaps on social media showing off the gown, which featured a high neckline and an entirely mesh bodice.
The Little Woman actress left her bare chest exposed beneath the fabric and put a brave note in her caption - making an apparent challenge to Instagram’s ban on photos of female nipples, as she wrote: "Technically they’re covered?"

The next day, Pugh shared more photos from the fashion show on Instagram, this time responding to the "commentary" about her outfit.
The actress told her 7.5 million followers that she’s comfortable with "the intricacies of her body", adding: "I’m happy with all of the ‘flaws’ that I couldn’t bear to look at when I was 14."

"I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it," she wrote. "What’s more concerning is… Why are you so scared of breasts? Small? Large? Left? Right? Only one? Maybe none? What. Is. So. Terrifying."
"It has always been my mission in this industry to say 'f*** it and f*** that' whenever anyone expects my body to morph into an opinion of what’s hot or sexually attractive," she continued.
Addressing the online users who left demeaning comments on her post, Pugh wrote: "Grow up. Respect people. Respect bodies. Respect all women. Respect humans."
"Life will get a whole lot easier, I promise. And all because of two cute little nipples… Oh!," she concluded, directing those that were offended over her bare chest to "the last slide" of photos in which she’s covered "that inch of darker skin".
To sign off, Pugh used the hashtag "#F******freethef******nipple", before being met with praise from celebrities in the comment section.
DeBose, a fellow attendee of the show, wrote: "RESPECT. Period," while Jameela Jamil commented: "You're a magical fucking queen and we do not deserve you."
Actress Aubrey Plaza applauded Pugh, writing: "OK this is what I been saying," while Joey King remarked: "You are truly so amazing. You put into words what so many feel but can’t articulate."

This isn't the first time the Oscar-nominated actress has spoken up against criticism directed at her throughout on her social media.
In April 2020, Pugh defended her relationship with Zach Braff - who is 21 years her senior - in a video shared on Instagram. She said: "It is the first time in my entire Instagram life that I have had to turn off the comments on my page."
Pugh added: "Regardless of your opinion on who I should or shouldn’t be with, at the end of the day if you’re complimenting someone by trolling another person... you’re just bullying."
