Gerard Piqué has debuted his new girlfriend on social media, seven months after splitting from Shakira.
The 45-year-old 'Hips Don't Lie' songstress announced back in June that she has split up with her partner of 11 years, who is also the father of her two children, Sasha, seven, and Milan, 10.
According to People, the pair wrote a joint statement that read: "We regret to confirm that we are separating. We ask for privacy at this moment for the well-being of our children, who are our maximum priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding and respect."
Now, it looks like the 35-year-old former professional soccer player has moved on as he shared a picture of him snuggling up to his new girlfriend, 23-year-old Clara Chia Marti.
Check out the picture below:The uncaptioned post - which surpassed 3 million likes - comes just weeks after the Latina hitmaker released her new song and breakup anthem 'BZRP Music Session #53'.
In the song, she gave a nod to her 2009 hit single 'She Wolf' which came shortly before the pair met in 2010 on the set of her music video for the official World Cup song 'Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)'.
She sang: "Sorry baby, I should have thrown you out a while ago / A she-wolf like me is not for rookies / A she-wolf like me is not for guys like you," and in the chorus, she belted: "I'm too good for you, and that's why you're with someone just like you."
The 'Whenever Wherever' singer then appeared to refer to Piqué and Marti’s relationship as she pipes: "I’m worth two 22-year-olds/You traded in a Ferrari for a Twingo/You traded in a Rolex for a Casio."
A week after the single - which has topped Global Spotify charts and amassed 213 million views in two weeks - the former Barcelona athlete was seen driving to his office in a Renault Twingo car in what fans believe was an intentional response.
Back in September, the Grammy-winning artist spoke with ELLE magazine about the break-up with her former partner and described it as the "darkest hours" of her life.
She said it was "really upsetting" for their children, adding: "What’s also real is the disappointment to see something as sacred and as special as I thought was the relationship I had with my kids' father and see that turned into something vulgarised and cheapened by the media."
Condemning the media scrutiny on her family, she continued: "It’s hard to talk about, especially because I’m still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye, and because our separation is not like a regular separation."
"So it’s been tough not only for me but also for my kids. Incredibly difficult. I have paparazzi camping outside, in front of my house, 24/7," she added.
