Gwyneth Paltrow got candid about what she uses her Oscar trophy for and let's just say, it's not quite what we were expecting.

In a new interview with Vogue for their famous 73 Questions segment, the 51-year-old actress was seen casually strolling through her garden when she walked past a wooden door that was being held open with her prestigious Oscar trophy.

The star was awarded the honor back in 1999 for her role as Viola de Lesseps in the Oscar-winning film Shakespeare in Love. Paltrow was only 26 at the time.

"What a beautiful Academy Award," the interviewer, Joe Sabia, said as they passed the statuette to which she responded back with: "[It’s] my doorstop!"

"It works perfectly," the wellness guru enthusiastically added.

Paltrow has previously spoken in the past about how intense it was to win the most coveted award in her industry when she was so young.

"[When] you win the biggest prize, like, what are you supposed to do? And where are you supposed to go?", she said back in May. "It was hard, the amount of attention that you receive on a night like that and the weeks following. And frankly, really unhealthy."

She continued: "I was like, 'This is crazy. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know which way is up.' It was a lot. Not that I would give it back or anything, it was an amazing experience, but it kind of called a lot of things into question for me."

She also opened up about the other personal things that were going on in her life at the time.

"I cried and people were so mean about it and I just thought, 'Wow there’s this big energy shift that’s happening. I think I’m going to have to learn to be less openhearted and much more protective of myself and filter people out better.'

"I felt a real pivot on that night because I felt like up until that moment everybody was kind of rooting for me in a way. And then when I won, it was like too much, and I could feel a real turn," she added.

While Paltrow may have given a performance of a lifetime to earn herself the award, not everyone agreed that she deserved it.

Actress Glenn Close slammed the Academy for giving Paltrow the coveted honor over Fernanda Montenegro who was also nominated in the category for Central Station.

"I remember the year Gwyneth Paltrow won over that incredible actress who was in Central Station and I thought, 'What? It doesn’t make sense,'" Close told ABC in November 2020.

"So I think who wins has a lot of things to do with how things have been, you know, whether it has traction or whatever," Close continued. "Publicity, how much money did they have to put it out in front of everybody’s sight. I have to be philosophical about it, if I was upset about it."

When asked about Close's comments a year later during an interview with Andy Cohen, Paltrow seemed to be oblivious to the shade.

"I just heard this from you, Andy! I never heard about this," Paltrow said during a 2021 episode of Watch What Happens Live.

"So I plead the fifth," the Iron Man actress concluded.
