Gwyneth Paltrow's skiing crash lawsuit has been the topic on everyone's lips for the past two weeks before the actress emerged victorious on Thursday evening.

Retired optometrist Terry Sanderson had sued the star for $300,000 (after a previous claim for $3 million was refused by a judge) after the pair were involved in a crash on the slopes at the Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah in 2016.

Sanderson had claimed that Paltrow crashed into him, leaving him with several injuries including permanent brain damage, but the jury ended up deciding in Paltrow's favor, awarding her a symbolic $1 settlement instead.

However, as well as debating whether Paltrow or Sanderson was the one to cause the crash, viewers were left a little distracted by Paltrow's dashing young lawyer, James Egan.

The conversation around Egan was fueled by Evan Ross Katz, who shared a photo of the bespectacled brief on Instagram, adding: "Gwyneth’s attorney James Egan? I think we should have that conversation."

Katie Couric commented: "He's cute," before Katz added: "Clark Kent yeah yeah yeah."

The photo also elicited a bunch of thirsty comments from fans who wrote: "Law daddy" and "I'd let him ski directly into my effing back," in reference to a quote from Paltrow during the trial.

Others added: "Can he be held against me in a court of law?", and "Have frankly never been so into braces and glasses."

The post also got the attention of his sister, Janie George, who found the furore around her brother in the wake of the trial to be extremely amusing.

She wrote: "@jamesremains is THE kindest, most humble guy. So grateful to have him as a big brother. He never wants to be in the spotlight. So this has been incredibly fun for our fam to watch him shine. LOVE YOU JAMES."

Sadly for those thirsting over Egan - who is also a musician in his spare time - he is actually happily married to interior designer and singer Taylor Olson and the couple has a one-year-old son called Cal.

Egan even shared a photo of him cradling his son at the piano on the Instagram account he has for his music, writing last year: "I’ve been listening to @anaismitchell’s 'Now You Know' on repeat while soaking in the first week of my son Cal’s life.

"@taysings and I are so grateful for the precious gift he is, and I’m grateful for songs that help me appreciate the beauty of it all. Those are the ones I aspire to write."

As for Egan, he works for the law firm Epperson & Owens and was part of the team that defended Paltrow to her ultimate victory in the case.

The Salt Lake City-based attorney was a key player in the trial and has worked for his firm for over seven years after graduating manga cum laude from Brigham Young University’s Law School in 2014.

He also has two albums which he has released on Spotify, if you still can't get enough of him.
