Gypsy Rose Blanchard has opened up about her fears about starting a family of her own after being released from prison after seven years.

The now-32-year-old was sentenced to 10 years behind bars for her involvement in the brutal murder of her mother, Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard, in 2015, but was released this month after serving seven years. Her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, who'd stabbed Dee Dee to death, was given life in prison.

Gypsy Rose had been a victim of Munchausen by Proxy at the hands of her mother throughout her childhood, who'd made her believe she was suffering from various serious health conditions including leukemia, all of which were fabricated.

Now a free woman once more, Gypsy Rose has admitted she is planning to start a family with her husband, Ryan Anderson, 37, but has some worries about having children.

Gypsy Rose married Ryan in June 2022 while she was incarcerated after the pair struck up a connection when the 37-year-old began writing her letters.

The couple have finally been able to spend quality time together in the days since her release, and are planning to have children in the future.

In a People exclusive, Gypsy Rose revealed her worries, explaining: "We're in love. It's hard because I'm going into a new life and I'm newly married, and I'm going to have kids one day, and I'm going to have to explain to my kids why their grandmother on mommy's side isn't around. And that's going to be a really hard conversation."

Despite her own difficult childhood, in which Dee Dee forced her to undergo many medical interventions she never needed, for the conditions she'd faked her daughter having, Gypsy Rose revealed she has no worries she would desire to inflict the same on her own kids.

She explained: "Whenever someone says, 'Do you think that because of what you went through, you're going to do that to your kids?' I say, 'You know what? Absolutely not.'"

Referring to the years of therapy she has undergone in the years since, Gypsy Rose added: "I have learned what not to do. I have no concerns about my parenting when it comes to that."

Gypsy Rose was convicted of helping her then-partner Nicholas Godejohn plan to kill Dee Dee, though she was not involved in the murder directly.

The pair had met on an online dating site before Gypsy Rose allegedly let Nicholas into her home to kill Dee Dee while she hid in the bathroom with her hands over her ears. The couple then ran away together before Dee Dee's body was discovered.

Despite spending all of her adult life thus far behind bars, and having been closely controlled by her mother in the years beforehand, Gypsy Rose believes she will adapt to life on the outside with her spouse pretty easily.

She added: "I don't foresee any major hardships [in her marriage to Ryan]. I think this, being in prison, has been the hard part.

"I think when I'm at home with my family, with my husband's arms around me and I'm surrounded by my loved ones, that is when I will be happy."

The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard airs on Lifetime from January 5-7 at 8PM ET/PT.
