Halle Berry has finally finalized her divorce from Olivier Martinez, seven years after the couple split up.

The actors, both 57, got married in 2013 but decided to split up just three years later in 2016. However, their divorce was only finalized this month.

Despite having a prenuptial agreement in place before their marriage, a host of issues around "custody and child support" reportedly held up proceedings being finalized.

Now that their marriage is officially dissolved, it has been claimed that Halle will have to pay Olivier $8,000 a month as well as having joint custody of their nine-year-old son, Maceo.

According to TMZ, the reason the pair's divorce proceedings took seven years was down to "some unresolved issues on custody and child support" which led to the case being held up in court.

The pair have reportedly now come to a formal arrangement that will see Halle have "joint legal and physical custody of Maceo", according to the publication, which claims to have seen the documents.

Halle is also reportedly set to pay Olivier $8,000 a month with expenses for Maceo's health insurance, therapy costs, and school fees on top.

According to the outlet, Halle will have Maceo from Monday to Wednesday, and Olivier will have him from Wednesday to Friday, with the couple alternating weekends. Changes to the schedule will also be made if there are school closures.

As well as the $8,000 a month she will pay her ex in child support, Halle is also reportedly having to pay up 4.3 percent of any income she receives over $2 million, according to the site.

The bill for any therapy Maceo has will also be covered by Halle, with the site claiming Halle and her daughter Nahla - from her ex Gabriel Aubry - will be able to attend sessions with him, but her new boyfriend Van Hunt will not be allowed to participate.

The legal documents were filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court this month, which tied up the "remaining loose ends" on the issues.

Halle and Olivier met on the set of Dark Tide in 2010, the same year she split from her ex Gabriel. They confirmed their engagement in March 2012 and tied the knot in France a year later in July 2013.

Halle and Olivier also welcomed their son in October of the same year, three months after their wedding.

Sadly, they decided to part ways just two years later, saying in a joint statement at the time: "It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce.

"We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus for what is best for our son. We wish each other nothing but happiness in life, and we hope that you respect our, and most importantly our children's privacy, as we go through this difficult period."
