Harry Styles has been praised by fans online after he gave fellow actor, Nick Kroll, a big smooch at this year's Venice International Film Festival.

The singer-turned-actor is playing one of the main roles in Olivia Wilde's new psychological thriller, Don't Worry Darling.

It was at the film's premiere in Venice when 28-year-old Styles - evidently high from the roaring four-minute standing ovation the flick received - planted a kiss on Kroll's lips.

Fans were quick to praise the former One Directioner across social media, with one person writing: "Harry can do anything in my book. He's gold [heart-eyes emoji]."

"SLAY AS HE SHOULD," someone else simply added.

Another chimed in with: "THIS IS GOING INTO HISTORY BOOKS."

Though, many of the comments also seemed to address the highly publicized yet unconfirmed tension between Florence Pugh and the movie's director, Olivia Wilde.

In fact, the drama-plagued flick has been in and out of headlines for several months, with Wilde and Pugh allegedly involved in a feud surrounding pay inequality and the actor Shia LaBeouf, as previously reported.

A Twitter user noticed that the movie's other lead actors, Gemma Chan and Chris Pine, seemed to separate Pugh and Wilde at the premiere, writing: "THE WAY GEMMA AND CHRIS HAVE BEEN SEPARATING THE THREE OF THEM EVERY TIME HAS ME LOLING."

Variety's Co-Editor-in-Chief, Ramin Setoodeh even commented on the awkwardness, tweeting: "Florence Pugh refuses to make eye contact with Olivia Wilde during the 4-minute #Venezia79 standing ovation for #DontWorryDarling."

So far, the movie hasn't fared too well with critics, who have not hesitated in offering their opinions.

TIME Magazine wrote: "The biggest problem with Don’t Worry Darling is that it ends in the wrong place: This could have been a reasonably effective dystopian chiller, but it takes a sharp swerve into feminist triumph that feels patched-on and facile."

Similarly, the Rolling Stone said: "Don't Worry Darling plays like a bad Op-Ed piece that wants you to believe its good intentions are more significant and righteous than they actually are."

The BBC even called the movie "half-baked" and "risk-free." Moreover, Rotten Tomatoes have, so far, given the film a rating of 48%.

Despite this, other critics have commended Wilde's efforts in Don't Worry Darling, with Empire Magazine stating: "Pugh is superb, while Wilde confidently steps up to a bigger subject and budget to deliver a slick, beautiful film. It does't quite stick the landing, but its flight to that point is fascinating."

"Don't Worry Darling is best as a surface-level matinée thriller with a few follow-up ahas. Darling chooses to girlboss when it could've sucker punched. But it's still way more watchable than many terminally online people already believe it to be," Collider's Brian Formo wrote.

Don't Worry Darling is set to hit theaters on September 23.
