Despite being an award-winning actor who would likely have millions of dollars to play with, Bradley Cooper still lives with his mom.
The 48-year-old - who shares a daughter with Russian model Irina Shayk, his ex-girlfriend - has been living at home with his mother Gloria Campano since 2011.
Cooper chose to make the move after his father Charles Cooper was sadly diagnosed with lung cancer, even taking an acting hiatus so he could spend more quality time with his parents.
He reportedly wanted to surround his sick father with love and attention, hoping to give him some joy despite his ailing health.
Sadly, just five months after Cooper moved into his parent's home, his father lost his battle with lung cancer. He then reportedly offered for his mom to move in with him in Los Angeles, telling the LA Times in 2013: "And right now, two years after my father's death, this is where we are. My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us. It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped.
"And we need each other. So here we are. But don't get me wrong. It's not without complications. It's not like I live in a compound and she's in the guesthouse. No. She's in the next room," he admitted, before adding: "But here's the thing: She's a cool chick. We can hang, and she can roll with the punches. If that wasn't the case, there's no way."
Then, during the height of the pandemic in 2020, Campano was still living with her son. In a discussion with Hamilton star Anthony Ramos for Interview Magazine, Cooper said: "I'm with my daughter and my mother and my two dogs, and we have not left the house [...] My mother is going to be 80, and she has a colostomy bag, so I can't let anybody in the house. And I can't leave the house, because if she gets it, it's over."
Though he stated they had been taking quarantining very seriously, Cooper did reveal that they had small things at home to look forward to, adding: "We live in a little townhouse, thankfully there's a backyard. I'm running a one-man preschool. We get up, we do swim class in the bathtub."
Aside from living with her son, Campano has frequently accompanied him to red-carpet events - including the Oscars in 2019 where she joined Cooper and his then-girlfriend Shayk, and also the Oscars in 2022.
