Heidi Klum's lingerie ad with her 18-year-old daughter slammed as 'weird' and 'disturbing'

Heidi Klum has divided social media users after appearing in a lingerie ad with her 18-year-old daughter.

The 49-year-old supermodel appeared in Italian intimate wear brand Intimissimi's most recent ad campaign with her daughter Leni. In the snaps, the mom and daughter duo can be seen modeling black and white lingerie.

"Like mother and daughter," Intimissimi captioned a picture of the Klums wearing the lingerie set and heels. "Every woman has a special place in her heart for her favorite lingerie."

The mom and daughter proudly shared photos from the shoot - but Heidi did opt to turn off comments.

However, not everyone was loving the photoshoot as many took to their social media to describe the ad as "weird" and "very disturbing".

One user wrote under the brand's post: "The photo is weird and the caption makes it weirder lol"

Another commented: "Disgusting. What is wrong with these people?"

A third said: "Sexualizing your daughter the moment they turn legal is weird," while a fourth remarked: "This is sick!!"

However, other users came to the duo's rescue and applauded the brand for their campaign, writing that it is "beautiful" and that there's nothing disturbing with it.

One user said: "Beautiful and very classy...more skin is shown in bathing suits...her daughter is 18...legal...they're both GORGEOUS & the only reason for the negative comments is [100%] pure jealousy!"

Another commented: "Okay people need to chill da*** out. The lingerie is not risque and looks like modern-day bathing suits."

A third wrote under a video of the pair: "I honestly don't get why yall are so pressed in the comments. This is actually a very classy [ad] for underwear, beautifully embracing the Italian background of this brand."

"It's mother and daughter in everyday underwear and if you automatically sexualize this that is your problem! You might wanna think about the fact that not every woman's body in underwear is meant to be sexual and that it is just a regular clothing item," they added.

A fourth user: "So AWESOME!!!! Love that your mom supports you and that you both see modeling for the art form it is instead of the sexified weirdness that everyone else makes it. People wouldn't be freaking out if you were both in bikinis so why is this weird at all. Good for you."

Last year, the mother and daughter pair appeared together on the cover of Vogue Germany. Leni shared the photos on Instagram, writing: "So excited for my first cover!! I had so much fun on set with @voguegermany couldn't dream of a better start!! Thank you for being by my side @heidiklum.”

Additionally, the America's Got Talent judge revealed to People magazine that the teenager expressed an interest in modeling and hosting shows.

"She kind of comes [on set] and looks and learns not just what I do but also what all the different people are doing on a TV set. I think it's very interesting to her," Klum said.

"When you're that age you're still trying to figure out who you are, and what you want to be, and kind of see for the first time what are all these different jobs to make a TV show happen. She does want to do what I do," she added.
