Former Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson has confessed that she got high at a concert after the death of her ex, Hugh Hefner.

In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, the 38-year-old recalled getting high at a Sublime concert in California just mere hours after it was announced that the Editor-in-Chief of the men's entertainment publication had passed away.

"I smoked a lot of weed," she told the outlet. "Look, at the end of the day, I owe Hef nothing. I’m not going to sit here and protect him. Hugh Hefner decided to date millions of girls, right? That's not my responsibility.

She continued: "And whatever happened with him, with his relationships, that was his thing. It’s not my responsibility to protect a man for his life choices."

Wilkinson was only 21 years old in 2001 when she started dating Hefner, who was 75 at the time. She said that she got herself some "boobs" and died her hair bleach blonde in order to fit in with the traditional Playboy image.

However, while at the time it may have seemed a good idea, almost two decades later, she's going to therapy to come to terms with the trauma she faced as a young Playboy bunny.

"I got into deep regret [afterward]," she said during the interview. "I got to that point where I started hating myself [and asking], 'Why did I have sex with Hugh Hefner?'"

"I hated my boobs, my body, my face. I got to that point where I started hating myself," she added.

Things continued to get worse for the star, who is a mom-of-two now, as she battled her demons and in September last year she was hospitalized and diagnosed with anxiety and depression.

She is now on medication to support her mental health journey.

"It’s not easy to look back at my 20s. I’ve had to face my demons," stated Wilkinson.

After explaining that Playboy "messed up her whole life," she also added: "Do you know how many people were putting pressure on me to stick up for Hef with all his allegations and all this stuff? That’s not my responsibility to stick up for someone like that."

The 38-year-old is referring to several women who spoke out about their experiences on A&E’s Secrets of Playboy which debuted in 2022 and explored the controversial history of the Playboy founder over the years.

While the company denounced Hugh's alleged "abhorrent actions", it has not stopped the ongoing mental trauma detailed by women like Wilkinson.

For example, Crystal Hefner has also opened up about her marriage to "The Hef", stating that she was never truly in love with her late husband and that she paid a big price for marrying Playboy boss.

Crystal - who is set to release her memoir Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself - has recently spoken out about the "toxic objectification and misogyny" she encountered during her time at the Playboy Mansion. She was married to Hugh from 2012 until he died in 2017 and recently disclosed that her marriage lacked true love.

She was 26 at the time of their wedding and the late Playboy founder was 86.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Crystal admitted: "I thought, ‘Wow, if I just like everything that he likes and do all the things that he wants me to do, then I’m the favorite.’ And I was, but I just lost myself in the process."

Crystal's account of the Playboy Mansion contrasts sharply with its public image. She claims that despite its glamorous appearance on television, the mansion was falling apart, feeling "kind of run down and gross after a while."

According to her, the lack of maintenance and excessive partying contributed to the mansion's deteriorating condition.

In the interview, Crystal also sheds light on Hefner's allegedly controlling behavior towards the girls in the house. She claims that Hefner dictated details as minor as the color of their nail polish and even commented on their hair roots. Crystal alleged that she would bleach her hair and endure scalp burns to comply with Hefner's standards.

While it has been a difficult journey, Playboy icons like Kendra and Crystal are determined to continue evolving.

"I have so much good in front of me. I have two of the most amazing kids who are good, solid human beings, and I feel like I just pressed a rebirth," she said. "Whatever that hurricane I was part of is in the far distance now."
