Viewers of the late Queen Elizabeth II's funeral today were left slightly confused after several eagle-eyed watchers spotted Grey's Anatomy actor Sandra Oh in the congregation.
The well-known actress is among numerous celebrities, world leaders, and foreign royals who attended the funeral, which took place at 11:00AM this morning (September 19) at Westminster Abbey in London. Around 2,000 people were in attendance, and tens of thousands more had flocked to England's capital to line the streets and pay their respects to the Queen one last time.
Some key figures in the congregation included Queen Margarethe II of Denmark, Chief Scout Bear Grylls, POTUS Joe Biden, and UK Prime Minister, Liz Truss.
However, some viewers couldn't help but question why their favorite Grey's Anatomy star was at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
Well, it turns out that Sandra Oh was in attendance as part of Canada's delegation, alongside Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. As well as key political figures, members of the Canadian Mounted Police and the Canadian Armed Forces formed part of the North American nation's delegation - making up part of the UK's national procession.
In 1967, Queen Elizabeth II founded the Order of Canada, which recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to the community, and service to the nation, Metro UK reported. After being critically acclaimed for her role alongside Jodie Comer in BBC's Killing Eve, 51-year-old Oh was awarded an Order of Canada.
This was awarded for her "artistic career filled with memorable stage, television and film roles in Canada and abroad," per Metro UK. Many other recipients of the prestigious award also took part in the Canadian delegation alongside Oh.
In the four days leading up to Queen Elizabeth's historic state funeral, her coffin was lying-in-state at Westminster Hall, where mourners were able to pay their respects to the much-adored monarch for 23 hours a day.
It is estimated that more than 300,000 people visited during this period, including David Beckham, who waited almost 14 hours and queued for miles to pay his final respects to the Queen he famously adored.
Following the service, the Queen's coffin embarked on a 1.25-mile procession to Wellington Arch, where it was then transferred to a hearse.
Following a two-hour journey to Windsor Castle, a Commitment Service took place at 4:00PM, where her coffin was lowered into the Royal vault at St. George's Chapel within Windsor Castle.
Finally, following a private family service this evening, Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest beside her late husband, Prince Philip, and her parents, King George VI, and the Queen Mother.
