An influencer has been widely criticized on social media after she posted a series of photos that were taken in front of her veteran father's open-casket funeral.
Social media users took to Twitter and Instagram to denounce the "funeral photoshoot" as "disrespectful".
In a now-deleted Instagram post, 20-year-old influencer, Jayne Rivera, posed in front of her father's open casket, Daily Mail reports.
She shared eight pictures from the shoot, which showed her smiling, looking over her shoulder, and holding her hands in prayer.

"Butterfly fly away. Rip Papi you were my best friend. A life well lived," she wrote alongside the photos.
According to news.com.au, she included the hashtags: "dadless" and "PTSD" — the latter of which refers to post-traumatic stress disorder.
Social media users were quick to slam the influencer, and question her motivations behind the controversial photos.
"Hi, my name is Jayne Rivera and I like taking photo shoots during my dad’s funeral. Yup, that’s him in the casket. She’s posted EIGHT photos on Instagram in various poses [sic]," wrote one Twitter user.
"When Jayne Rivera’s father passed away, she, enterprising model that she is, saw in his open-casket funeral an opportunity to showcase a sexy mourning dress. Way to put the grrr back in grief, Jayne," another commented.
While a third added: "This Instagram model’s father passed away... and she did a photo shoot with the open casket…."
Others poked fun at the fact that Rivera hails from Florida.
Some, however, defended the Instagram model, explaining that some people grieve differently.
"I know there is a generic dislike for a lot of our current culture but knowing grief and nothing about the model I'm not gonna judge. If it's their fam they can do what they want," wrote one Twitter user.
Another corroborated: "I was going to say the same thing. Everyone handles grief differently or not at all depending on their circumstances/relationship.
"Although, posting images of yourself sexy posing in front of your father's grave is probably a bad judgment call and not a good look."
Rivera has since deactivated her Instagram account over the backlash.
Per Daily Mail, prior to its deletion, her account had garnered over 84,000 followers on Instagram, as well as more than 300,000 on TikTok. She regularly posted content about fashion and travel.
As of yet, Rivera has not issued a statement or apology regarding the furor.
