The truth behind Nick Cannon's new reality show where women will supposedly "compete to have his 13th baby" may have been revealed.
On Monday, the 42-year-old comedian sent social media users into a frenzy after sharing a mysterious post on his Twitter page that read: "Expect some big news tomorrow ..." with the baby bottle emoji.
Of course, fans began suspecting that the Wild N' Out host - who has welcomed a dozen children with five different women - was planning to reveal the news that baby number 13 was on the way.
But instead, they were left stunned after Cannon shared a trailer for a bizarre reality TV show called Who's Having My Baby? that it will supposedly premiere on E! this Spring.
Check out the trailer below:The new series is seemingly a competition dedicated to finding the mother in charge of expanding the Love Don't Cost A Thing actor's large brood, and it will be hosted by Kevin Hart.
In the trailer, the 43-year-old comedian says to Cannon "You’re going to get some contestants that wanna have your baby!" and introduces a string of competitors who paraded cheerfully onto the stage.
The America's Got Talent host can be seen grinning as he played "Eenie meenie minie mo," between the women before Hart yelled: "Let's GO!"
At first, several people on social media began questioning whether the TV show - which sounds like something straight out of a Black Mirror episode - is real, with one user writing: "I'm going to assume the nick cannon show is fake and go on about my life. Ignorance is bliss."
Another person chimed in: "This can’t be real life."
A third commented: "This has to be a joke."
Well, it turns out their suspicions were confirmed, because according to Variety, the faux series is apparently a sketch produced by Hart for a forthcoming project that is set to be announced very soon. The report added that the project is something entirely new and not related to Hart's Celebrity Game Face.
The outlet stated that insiders believe that more details about the sketch will be disclosed soon as the Central Intelligence actor is aiming to work on another comedy show with NBCUniversal.
While we can all breathe a sigh of relief that the somewhat dystopian show will not be going ahead, some online users were still not amused.
One unimpressed person penned: "This is what you were teasing??? Nick Cannon has officially hit rock bottom. Even if this is fake, this being the kind of attention that he craves is pathetic as well. His poor kids."
A second user added: "He should be f***ing ashamed of himself that everybody believed it was plausible."
Lastly, one more person wrote: "Thank God this isn't real! It must really say something about Nick that so many people believed he would do something like this!"
But I guess the fact that many people were quick to believe Cannon's announcement really says a lot about his prolific parenthood...
